A professional frying pan with excellent frying properties and almost eternal life! A carbon steel pan is a good alternative to Teflon pans, and like cast iron, requires little care. A well-maintained carbon steel pan forms a natural non-stick surface formed by grease and carbon, reducing the need for treatment and increasing non-stickiness. A widely used carbon steel pan even has the baking properties of a cast iron pan and the non-stickiness of a Teflon pan! In addition, metal tools can also be used with the pan without any worries.

The De Buyer Mineral B series has a completely natural and chemical-free organic beeswax coating as a pre-treatment. The coating protects the pan from rust and helps in setting up the pan. It forms the first baking surface for carbon steel while improving the non-stick properties of the pan. Wash the pan with hot water from any storage dust before first use - most of the beeswax is removed from the surface. The remaining small amount of wax does not harm but on the contrary helps to put the pan into operation. You can also burn a frying pan if you want - see the video link below for instructions.

Carbon steel is not as porous as cast iron, so you can fry all the raw materials in it without any worries. In raw materials with a high protein content, such as eggs or white fish, you should be careful and lower the temperature considerably. It is not advisable to try to keep carbon steel the color of clear steel, but it changes color in use. The inside of the pan darkens and when the inside is completely black, its natural non-stick surface is at its best.

The carbon steel pan should not be washed in a dishwasher, washing by hand usually requires only hot water. Also, food cannot be stored in a carbon steel pan or left in the sink due to rust. However, if surface rust appears in the pan, it is not unusable and the rust can be removed with, for example, a coarse sponge or steel wool. It is also a good idea to apply a drop of rapeseed oil to the pan after use, washing and drying to prevent surface rust from forming during storage.

Suitable for all heat sources and hobs, including induction hobs. The frying pan can also be used in the oven. The bottom of the pan is not rounded but straight.

Compatible with frying pan

The pressed body of a carbon steel pan can sometimes warp slightly. To prevent this, avoid putting a hot pan in cold water. Using the pan at full power on the hob can also cause warping. If distortion occurs, you should first heat the pan slightly and place it on a sturdy surface upside down and tap the bottom of the pan with a hammer.
