The 16th century is not an easy time to live in, with an army of cruel inquisitors controlling the practice of the faith. The game takes place in an alternative version of (religious) reality. The game is inspired by Jacek Piekara's popular Inquisitor book series. When Jesus was nailed to the cross and was close to death, rage took over him. He broke free and took violent revenge on all non-believers. Centuries later, an army of inquisitors brutally oversees the practice of this bloody church religion.

You are Mordimer Madderdin, an inquisitor in the service of God, sent to the city of Koenigstein, plagued by mysteries and sin. Solve the cases and crimes of those who have acted against the faith while uncovering the truth about a darker evil from another world trying to enter the world of the living.
