The Sony A7C II builds on the sleek design and full-frame sensor combination of its first-generation predecessor. The Sony a7C II offers improved resolution, autofocus, image stabilization directly in the body, and video capabilities in the same compact form factor.

The advanced imaging system of the Sony a7C II is based on the familiar 33-megapixel cinema-size Exmor R CMOS sensor from the A7 IV and the BIONZ XR processor, a combination capable of producing 10-bit 4K images at up to 30 frames per second or continuous shooting at 10 frames per second AF: with n and AE using either a mechanical or electronic shutter. The backlit design of the camera sensor enables higher resolution without sacrificing sensitivity. With an ISO range of 100-51200, expandable to ISO 50-204800, the camera offers excellent low-light performance with low noise and wide dynamic range.

The a7C II's video recording has experienced a big improvement, and you can shoot very high-quality 4K videos with it. The 33 megapixel sensor enables 7K video to be oversampled to 4K video, and with the A7 IV you can also shoot 4K 60P material in Super 35 mode. The A7 IV also brings with it 10bit 4:2:2 video and with this the usable SLOG3 and S-Cinetone image profiles, also known from film cameras. The A7C II also offers the advanced video features familiar from the ZV-E1, such as LUT support and advanced autofocus, which are missing from the A7 IV.

The biggest shortcomings compared to the A7 IV: only one memory card slot, a smaller and lower-resolution viewfinder, a small micro HDMI connector, and weaker heat resistance. Better: autofocus, LUT support, better dynamic image stabilization.
