Body and optical structure:

• Sigma has used a new optical design where unique low dispersion elements are placed at the front of the lens. This enables a compact and light structure and excellent performance by minimizing reflections.
• The 20-element structure in 14 groups contains three FLD and two SLD elements, effectively preventing glare and reflections and improving image sharpness.
• The lens body is made of heat-stabilized composite and magnesium, so it is durable and dust- and splash-proof. A water and oil repellent coating has also been added to the front to protect against dirt.

OS2 Optical Image Stabilizer:

• Sigma's OS2 algorithm offers up to 5 stops of image stabilization. This, together with the compact size, makes the lens an excellent option for handheld shooting. You can shoot with longer shutter speeds without loss of image sharpness.
• Two stabilization modes: Mode 1 for overview and Mode 2 with Sigma's smart OS algorithm. This mode is suitable for panning and shooting sports, as it effectively stabilizes the image even when the camera moves vertically or diagonally.

HLA autofocus system:

• The new HLA (High-response Linear Actuator) focusing motor brings unprecedented speed, precision and silence to the Sigma autofocus.
