The Tamron 17-70mm F/2.8 Di III-A VC RXD combines the best of many lenses. It's compact and lightweight, has a zoom range that suits most shots from wide-angle landscapes to portraits, and has creamy bokeh. Because it has an excellent shortest focusing distance, it is also suitable for macro photography. On top of that, Tamron has put an f/2.8 aperture through the entire zoom range!

The lens starts at 17mm wide angle, which is ideal for landscape and architectural photography, and extends up to 70mm, which is perfect for shooting portraits. In this range, it is the world's first ultra-bright f/2.8 zoom lens for APS-C mirrorless cameras, achieving a 4.1x zoom ratio.

The lens is equipped with Tamron's VC (image stabilization) mechanism to minimize camera shake and a separate MPU processor dedicated exclusively to vibration compensation. The result is faster and more accurate autofocus, as well as a consistently more effective image stabilizer.

The optical structure of Tamro's 17-70 mm F/2.8 lens has 16 elements in 12 groups. Two GM (aspherical molded glass) lens elements and one hybrid aspherical lens element are precisely arranged to maintain high-resolution performance from edge to edge. The lens hood consists of nine blades to create a creamy bokeh. Thanks to the excellent optical design, the zoom can focus as close as 0.19 meters, which makes it excellent for macro photography as well.
