The KORG phase8 is a unique eight-voice acoustic synthesizer that combines the organic sound of physically vibrating resonators with modern electronic control. KORG's Acoustic Synthesis technology creates a completely new approach to sound formation, where acoustic resonance meets the flexibility of synthesizers.

Acoustic synthesizer in a new way

At the heart of the phase8 are eight independent electromechanical steel resonators that produce sound through physical vibration. The result is a lively, organic, and touch-responsive tone that differs from traditional analog and digital synthesizers. The instrument reacts to its environment and continuously offers new ways to shape the sound.

Replaceable and tunable resonators

The instrument comes with 13 chromatically tuned steel resonators, of which eight can be installed simultaneously. The resonators can be swapped and tuned, allowing customization of scales, tunings, and tonal characteristics to suit individual needs.

Polyrhythmic sequencer and automation

The built-in sequencer supports both step programming and real-time recording. Thanks to the Step Skip function, each voice can use its own rhythmic pattern, enabling complex polyrhythms and evolving rhythmic sequences. Additionally, all front panel parameters can be automated during the sequence.

Touch, tap, and experiment

The phase8 invites physical interaction. The resonators can be touched, tapped, plucked, or used with various objects to create new textures. The AIR slider controls the amount of acoustic feedback and the instrument's responsiveness to its environment.

Ready to be part of a modular system

MIDI, USB-MIDI, and CV connections allow the phase8 to integrate into modern studios and modular synthesizer setups. The instrument can both receive and send MIDI data and synchronize with other devices.
