In the 13th century, the Mongol Empire has had time to destroy entire nations on its journey to conquer the East. The island of Tsushima is the last stronghold between the main island of Japan and the massive navy of the Mongols. The fleet is led by the ruthless and cunning General Khotun Khan.
As the island flares up in the aftermath of the first Mongol attack, the numbers of the samurai warrior Jin Sakai's clan begin to run low. He is determined to protect his people and take back his home at all costs. He must abandon the traditions that have made him a warrior, follow the path of the ghost, and liberate Tsushima by means of an unusual war.
Ancient beauty shines in war-torn Tsushima
Adventure off the battlefield and experience feudal Japan in a whole new way. In this open-world action-adventure, you get to tour the vast countryside and expansive terrain, encounter a wide variety of characters, explore ancient landmarks, and reveal Tsushima’s latent beauty.
Explore in detail the created areas that showcase the diversity of life on the island—from meadows to grasslands, peaceful temples, ancient forests, and villages to rugged mountains. Calm down in the silence of nature and find safety in the moments when the people you meet on your journey will help you.
The rise of the ghost
Jin has been raised and trained as a samurai. When the Mongols overwhelm the samurai troops effortlessly, Jin’s world shatters. He will have to make the most difficult decision of his life: will he respect the traditions and customs of his samurai education and continue a struggle that has already been lost, or will he deviate from the samurai path and protect the island and its people by all necessary means?
In recapturing Tsushima, Jin needs help and support from both old friends and new, surprising allies. He must abandon traditions, become a new kind of warrior, and protect what is left of his home and people — at any cost.
