Baana is not necessarily the first brand that comes to mind when talking about gravel bikes, and neither did we. We have been designing our own bikes for years, and as a result of years of development, Baana now has its own gravel bike, which combines a good price-quality ratio and high-quality parts. It has exactly the parts that we think have the best overall properties for all different platforms and that we would choose for our own bikes.
The aluminum frame and carbon fiber front fork are a good combination of lightness, sturdiness and vibration filtering. In addition, we wanted more riding comfort in the form of a carbon fiber seat post, because it filters road vibrations and small bumps better than aluminum. If you want even more effective vibration filtering, you can find e.g. flexible handlebar mounts in our selections.

The geometry is suitably relaxed and you can drive longer distances with Noux even on a worse platform. The frame has suitable attachment points for the rack and The bike is also proven to perform well in touring cycling, as one cyclist pedaled the bike over the Alps from Rome to Brygge on a test bike.

The frame has room for tires up to 50 mm wide, but as standard the bike is equipped with the well-reviewed 40 mm wide Maxxis Rambler tires. With brown sides, they are a classic color and the Silkshied puncture protection helps you get carefree kilometers. The low pattern in the center of the tires rolls well on hard surfaces, and the larger knobs on the edges bring confidence in curves and on soft surfaces. The tires are tubeless ready models, which means you can improve rollability and durability. The WTB ST i19 TCS 2.0 wheels are not the lightest, but they can certainly withstand even harder driving and are therefore maintenance-free, as long as you remember to carry out the first maintenance.

The gearing is Sram's Apex series, which offers reliable ease of use and carelessness with a single front sprocket. The transmission range is wide at 370%, which means that you can ride the bike even on a steeper hill and still find a suitable transmission even on a flat one.

The brakes are hydraulic disc brakes from the Apex series, which stop even in worse weather, giving you full credit to the bike both on the hill and on the road. The bike has thru-axles that are superior in terms of durability and ease of use. Thanks to the thru axles, the hub is always positioned in the same place on the fork, so the brake settings remain unchanged even if you remove the discs during transport.

The bike is delivered in the factory packaging, assembled almost ready to ride. If nothing else is stated for the bike, the level of stacking is 95%. With a few steps, you can get the bike ready to ride.

When installing the pedals, it is recommended to put grease or oil on the threads. You have to be careful that the left and right pedals go in the right direction. Start tightening with your fingers and only use the tool at the end. Tighten the pedals carefully.

Check the brake and gear adjustments before the first ride.

Small parts such as the clock and reflectors are generally loose, remember to install them for safe movement. Read more assembly tips.

We recommend that the bike is first serviced after 100-300 km of driving at a specialist bike service shop. If you have difficulties getting the bike ready for riding, you should contact an expert bike service.

Degrees of stacking:

  • 98% "ready to ride" - E tire ring , pedals and seat post are not installed. The handlebar bracket must be turned to the correct position and tightened. The gears and brakes are already adjusted at the factory.
  • 95% - E tire, pedals, seat post and handlebar are not installed . Check the tightness of the bolts and nuts. The gear and brake adjustments are ready except for fine tuning.
  • 90% - Front tire, pedals, seat post and handlebar are not installed. The fenders and possible body are not installed. Check the tightness of the bolts and nuts. The adjustments of the gears and brakes are probably not correct.

*The bike was equipped with a smaller and oval rim for the steeper hills found elsewhere than in Finland. At the same time, the bike had been updated with coolers for long descents with a heavy load. The tires on the trip were those aimed at touring cycling, with similar e.g. one of our product managers pedaled from Helsinki to Eurobike. A hard tip if you managed to skim to the end of the page.
