The PoE+ switch is an essential active networking device in any Ethernet infrastructure using power transmission through the structural cabling. RSFE-4P-2FE-60 is dedicated to all kinds of installations: home, business, low-voltage, surveillance, IP, VoIP, cable TV networks, and in a particular product can be used in alarm, fire, or access control systems.
Apart from the switch's primary function, i.e., supporting Ethernet frame transfer between ports, the device also provides a power supply for each appliance in the PoE/PoE+ standard – 802.3af and 802.3at. This means that the switch can supply the devices with a total of up to 60 W. All of this is combined with simultaneous data transmission.
As a result, such a solution saves resources, space, and time by eliminating the need to install a separate electrical and network infrastructure. This is especially important if the network is dispersed and its end-devices do not have direct access to a power source, particularly when they are mounted outdoors.

A RELIABLE SOLUTION WITHOUT COMPROMISES - WITH A REAL 60 W POE BUDGET
The switch is fitted with a total of 6 RJ-45 ports, including 4 PoE+ (Fast Ethernet) and 2 Uplink (Fast Ethernet) ports. The well-thought-out design and attention to detail and component quality enable the user to achieve up to 60 W of real power for the end-devices, which translates into the simultaneous connection of:

- 4 IEEE 802.3af devices (max. 15W per port) or,
- 2 IEEE 802.3at devices (max. 30W per port),
The 2 remaining (Uplink) ports are dedicated to transferring data traffic between the 4 PoE+ ports and external devices. In the case of surveillance/control systems, this is particularly useful as it allows the user to simultaneously play the recording(s) from the IP cameras on the NVR and share them further, e.g., on the local network or the Internet.
The pin voltage scheme for the PoE+ ports is as follows: V+ (1; 2), V- (3; 6).

INTELLIGENT POE PORT DISCONNECT FEATURE
In most commercially available switches with a small number of ports, it is not entirely clear how they will behave when the available PoE budget is exceeded. There are several possibilities: the device that exceeds the budget, a random port, or the most recently connected port will be disconnected. In the latter case, what will be their order after a power outage and restoration when all cables are simultaneously connected to the switch?
Lanberg has introduced an innovative solution in the RS series switches that eliminates all doubts regarding the mechanics of the RJ-45 ports.
When the PoE budget is exceeded (e.g., due to a device connected to port 1), the switch will start disconnecting PoE ports starting from the highest numbered one until the sum of the loads does not exceed the available budget, while keeping the remaining ports intact. The port(s) that are disconnected will be alternately switched off and on.
This functionality is primarily dedicated to demanding applications that emphasize safety and continuity of operation, requiring certain devices to work continuously regardless of the situation. In such cases, Lanberg switches will help the user safeguard sensitive devices by connecting them to the lowest-numbered ports.

EXTEND MODE UP TO 250 METERS
By default, standard switches ensure that devices can operate at distances of up to 100 m on a single Ethernet cable. However, sometimes a unique solution beyond the standard is required when developing cabling and network structures due to extensive core networks and complex environments. In the case of surveillance systems, this is a quite common problem resulting from the excessive distance between the distribution device and the end-device.
Lanberg switches feature a function that enables data transmission (max. 10 Mbps) and PoE+ power supply up to 250 m on a single cable section. Simply toggle the switch position to „PoE+ Extend 250 m” on the housing to ensure long-distance operation for ports 1 ~ 4.
This solution has been introduced for surveillance, IP, and access control systems, especially if the power equipment is located outdoors without the possibility of installing additional network distribution points.

4 kV ESD PROTECTION
The switch itself, as well as the devices connected to it, are repeatedly exposed to various dangers, including electrostatic discharges that can flow through both power and network cables.
With the safety of both the devices and their users in mind, Lanberg has equipped the switch with an integrated discharge protection system that guarantees 4 kV protection for all ports, effectively reducing damage caused by voltage surges.
Under standard conditions, network operation will continue without interruption, just like the switch. At the same time, the user gains the safety of both the device and the infrastructure.

INSTALLATION KIT INCLUDED - RACKMOUNT EARS FOR 10" & 19" CABINETS
The RS switch series is characterized not only by manufacturing quality, ease of use, and device functionality but also by its installation versatility and supplied accessories.
Most small switches available on the market are supplied for desktop installation or implementation within 19" rack cabinets. Some manufacturers overlook users wishing to incorporate their products into smaller home or SOHO networks. This is crucial, especially when switches have a small number of ports and a compact housing. As a result, Lanberg switches can be mounted not only in 19" rack cabinets but also in smaller ones, such as 10".
Lanberg has added a set of accessories for flexible installation.
