The DJI RS 5 Combo is a gimbal designed for stable and controlled filming, combining intelligent tracking, precise balancing, and a lightweight structure. The new briefcase handle facilitates control, while fast charging and longer battery life ensure that filming proceeds without interruption. Improved subject tracking and filming reliability

The DJI RS 5 utilizes the RS Enhanced Intelligent Tracking module, which allows subjects to be framed and selected directly from the touchscreen. The system tracks a person from up to 10 meters away and is capable of re-locating the subject if it momentarily leaves the frame. It supports specialized tracking modes for people, vehicles, and pets.

A fifth-generation stabilization algorithm combined with a 50 percent higher peak motor torque than before provides smooth footage during various movements, such as walking, running, and vertical shooting.

Lightweight design and strong payload capacity

The RS 5 weighs 1.46 kg including the battery handle and quick-release plates, yet it still carries camera equipment weighing up to 3 kg. The compact design supports vertical shooting without additional accessories, and the device works well with most mirrorless cameras. This provides flexibility for building various shooting configurations.

Smooth control with the new briefcase handle

The new electronic briefcase handle makes it easier to operate the device with one hand. Using the joystick and buttons, the user can precisely control the gimbal and camera from different angles. The RS 5 also supports a Bluetooth shutter, which works with Sony, Canon, Nikon, and now also selected Panasonic and Fujifilm cameras.

Efficient power usage and fast charging

The standard battery provides approximately 14 hours of standby time and charges fully in one hour. Charging is 60 percent faster than in the previous model, and operating time has increased by 15 percent. The available BG70 high-capacity battery handle can extend standby time up to 30 hours and supports 45W PD fast charging.

Precise balancing and flexible workflow features

Fine-tuning knobs and Teflon coatings enable smooth and precise balancing even with heavier configurations. Second-generation automatic axis locks facilitate transport and speed up setup, as they unlock immediately when the device is powered on.

A third-generation native structure designed for vertical shooting makes the transition from horizontal to vertical shooting fast. Dual-layer quick-release plates allow for a flexible transition between the gimbal and a tripod without re-balancing.

The RS 5 also supports DJI Focus Pro motors, which allow for control of zoom and focus. Additionally, support for DJI SDR transmission enables high-definition broadcasting and remote control for small production crews.
