Nikon battery EN-EL15c (04528NRD)

„Nikon EN-EL15c“ – an original rechargeable lithium-ion battery designed for various Nikon mirrorless and DSLR cameras. The 2280 mAh capacity allows for longer photography and video shooting on a single charge, making the battery suitable for both daily use and longer photo sessions, events, or travel. This is a newer version of the EN-EL15 series battery, featuring a higher capacity than the previous EN-EL15, EN-EL15a, and EN-EL15b models. When used with a camera for which the manufacturer recommends the EN-EL15c, this battery helps achieve the intended camera operating life and power management efficiency. In compatible Nikon cameras, the EN-EL15c can be charged without being removed from the camera – via the USB port or using a compatible USB power adapter. The battery can also be charged separately using a Nikon MH-25a or MH-34 charger. The original Nikon battery maintains communication with the camera's power management system, allowing for more accurate viewing of the remaining charge level and battery status in the camera menu. This is especially important for professional photography or filming, where it is essential to reliably plan the remaining work time.

Comparison with alternatives

Nikon EN-EL15c or EN-EL15b?

Both batteries can work in many of the same cameras, and in some models, they can be charged in-camera via USB. However, the EN-EL15c has a higher capacity of 2280 mAh, therefore typically ensuring longer operation in compatible cameras.

Nikon EN-EL15c or older EN-EL15 and EN-EL15a?

Older batteries can be used in some compatible cameras, but they have a lower capacity and cannot be charged in-camera via USB. Some newer Nikon models do not support the old EN-EL15 versions at all.

Original Nikon or non-original battery?

Non-original batteries often cost less, but their real capacity, battery level display, durability, and compatibility may vary. The original EN-EL15c is the safest choice when reliability, accurate battery status display, and manufacturer-intended performance are paramount.
