NEUTRAL DENSITY (ND.8) FILTER

Neutral density filters have several uses and provide the ability to achieve results otherwise unattainable. ND filters appear gray and reduce the amount of light reaching the film. They do not affect color balance. These filters have four main uses: 1) To allow for the use of slow shutter speeds, especially with fast-speed films, to capture the movement of objects such as waterfalls, clouds, or cars. 2) To reduce the depth of field, allowing you to use wider apertures, which helps to separate objects from the background. 3) To reduce the effective ISO of high-speed film (above ISO 400) and allow it to be used outdoors in bright light. 4) To allow cinema and video cameras (which have a fixed shutter speed) to film objects such as snow, sand, or other bright scenes that may cause overexposure.
