Product description
Hydraulic bicycle brake air cup, suitable for Shimano brakes using mineral oil. Primarily suitable for gravity air release, where the cup is placed with the handle at the highest point and the brake caliper at the lowest. The TL-BR002 is designed primarily for road bike brakes, also used on cyclocross and gravel bikes. A more suitable tool for off-road and hybrid bike brakes is the TL-BR003.
- Remove the brake pads and insert an air release block between the pistons to prevent the pistons from coming loose.
- Remove the handle release screw.
- Screw the cup in place (make sure the O-ring on the screw came off with the screw).
- Connect the hose and reservoir that fits the brake caliper air release screw.
- Fill the cup with mineral oil.
- Open the brake caliper bleed screw, allowing new brake fluid to flow through the system.
- Pump the brake lever, allowing brake fluid to drain from the lower end.
- Refill the cup as necessary to prevent air from entering the system.
- Finally, close the brake caliper bleed screw
- Pump a few more times to make sure the air bubbles are out of the hose (you can even tap the hose).
- Remove the cap and screw the bleed screw with the O-ring in place.
