Lautapelit.fi Catan board game (LPFI 401)

Multiple game of the year winner!

Klaus Teuber's Catan (Settlers of Catan, Siedler von Catan) is a game that has been awarded several Game of the Year awards and has served as a pioneer for the new wave of German board games. It puts players in the position of new builders to populate the ever-changing island of Catan.

On each turn, the active player rolls a dice. A roll of the dice tells which areas produce raw materials. If the player has a village or city next to that area, he gets cards. After that, the players can exchange cards with each other as they wish. Finally, the active player can use his cards to build new roads, villages at the end of the roads, and cities in place of the villages. Development cards describing the development of living can also be obtained.
