The operation is simple and clear: Attach Mickey to the speaker, connect the cable to your smartphone or tablet and record with either the RØDE Rec iOS app or any selected audio application.

Because the smartLava has a high-quality spherical capacitor, it captures sound just as well on all sides. This gives flexibility in the placement of the microphone as well as makes it easier to use.

A foam windscreen that dampens wind and ploses (hard consonants p, t and k) and a durable bracket with cable guides are standard on the microphone.

smartLav works with any audio application and device that accepts the TRRS connector as an audio input. The microphone works best with the RØDE Rec application designed for Apple iOS devices. RØDE Rec turns your iOS device into a versatile field recorder with a wide range of equalizer presets, editing functions and the ability to share a recording to SoundCloud or Dropbox directly from the app.
