Zoom M3 microphone (1ZOM3)

The Zoom M3 is a shotgun microphone with built-in recording. This camera-ready microphone captures all the nuances of sound with 32-bit floating point technology, so there's no need to worry about extra amplification. The M3's special attenuation technology keeps your equipment lightweight and also ensures minimal processing noise. The microphone allows you to easily switch between mono and stereo modes: mono is optimal for recording dialogue, for example, 90-degree mode gives a more accurate stereo image, while 120-degree mode provides a very wide soundstage, making it a good choice for recording ambience or, say, sound effects.

The M3 always records a backup mid/side file, allowing you to adjust the stereo image of the recording afterwards. The mic also has a 3.5mm stereo output, so it can be connected directly to the camera. The M3 Edit and Play software can be used to adjust the stereo width of the sound and normalise files for synchronisation and editing. Via the USB-C port, M3 connects directly to your PC, Mac, iOS or Android device for streaming and recording. Internal recording is powered by an SDXC card, while 2 AA batteries power the microphone for up to 12 hours.
