Bike pumps
A bike pump is needed to inflate tyres to the right pressure, and it makes sense to keep one at home as well as carry one on rides. Floor pumps are convenient at home, with a gauge for precise pressure control, which matters especially for narrow road tyres. Compact hand pumps or CO2 cartridges come in handy for a puncture away from home, taking up minimal space in a bag or on the frame. When choosing, check compatibility with the valve type - Presta or Schrader.
