A metal detector finds coins, jewelry, and other metal objects underground or in sand - just sweep the coil slowly over the surface. This category includes simple beginner models with basic metal discrimination and more sensitive versions with separate depth and signal-type settings for experienced treasure hunters. When choosing, consider the coil diameter - a larger coil covers more ground but is worse at picking up small objects.
