Pacifiers and teethers help satisfy a baby's sucking reflex and ease the discomfort of teething. Pacifiers differ in nipple shape - orthodontic or classic - and in size depending on the baby's age. Teethers are often filled with water or gel and chilled before use, which helps relieve itching and pain in the gums. When choosing, it's worth checking the age marking, the material (silicone or latex), and that the item is a single piece with no risk of small parts coming loose.
