Moving a day's worth of photos off a memory card goes much faster through a card reader than through the camera's own cable. The category offers compact single-slot readers and universal models that accept SD, microSD, CF and other formats. Decide which card types you actually use and how you'll connect: USB-A suits desktops, USB-C fits newer laptops, tablets and phones. If you shoot on fast UHS-II cards, pick a reader that supports the standard - transfers stop being a coffee-break affair.
