AV, SCART, S-Video and RCA cables are used to connect older video equipment - DVD and VHS players, retro consoles and older televisions without digital inputs. SCART combines several signals into one large connector and is common on European equipment, S-Video carries video separately from audio at a higher quality than plain composite signal, and RCA cables remain the most universal option for a basic connection. The range also includes adapters between these standards. When choosing, it's worth checking the connectors on the specific devices you need to connect.
