An inverter converts direct current from a battery (usually 12 or 24 V) into 230 V alternating current, which household appliances need when running in a car, at a summer house, or on a boat without a mains connection. The range includes models of different power and output type - modified or pure sine wave, with the latter suited to more sensitive electronics. When choosing, calculate the combined power of the devices you plan to connect.
