Portable routers
A portable router turns a mobile data connection into a shared Wi-Fi network for a laptop, tablet, smart TV or several phones at once. It relies on a SIM card from a mobile operator rather than a fixed cable, which makes it useful while travelling, at a summer house or during an office move. When choosing one, check which network standard it supports, 4G or 5G, how long the battery lasts on a single charge, and how many devices it can serve at the same time. Smaller, battery-powered units are the easiest to carry along.
