A PC power supply quietly decides how stable the whole build is, so it deserves more attention than it usually gets. Add up the system's power draw and leave 20–30 percent headroom, especially with a powerful graphics card on board. Look for an 80 Plus efficiency rating, decide between fixed and modular cables - modular keeps the case tidier - and match the format: ATX for standard cases, SFX for compact ones. Semi-passive modes and large fans help keep the machine quiet.
