The Q5 Max is a fully wireless and customizable 96% mechanical keyboard made of durable aluminum. It is programmable with QMK/VIA software, which offers the ability to customize the keyboard's functions.
To enhance the typing experience, the keyboard features multiple layers of acoustic foam, ensuring premium sound quality with every keystroke. The metal body of the Q5 Max is made of 6063 aluminum, which is CNC-machined, polished, sandblasted and undergoes 24 other manufacturing processes.
Programmable Knob Designed to enhance productivity, the premium rotary knob allows you to easily customize your favorite keys and macros with the innovative VIA software. You can customize the knob to any key or macro command you want, such as zoom, screen brightness, brush size, opacity, volume control, video/photo selection, or backlight.
Wireless and wired mode The keyboard can be connected to up to three devices via Bluetooth and easily switch between them. With a wireless USB dongle, you can turn the keyboard wireless if Bluetooth is not available. In addition, it has a wired mode with a USB Type-C port.
KSA Double-shot PBT Keycaps The ergonomic design and classic appearance of the KSA profile make it the perfect choice for regular typing. The PBT keycaps provide excellent oil resistance, improve typing feel, and prevent letter fading.
Switch layouts between macOS and Windows The Keychron Q5 Max is built with the Mac user experience in mind while maintaining compatibility with Windows devices. It features a system toggle switch and an additional set of custom keys for both Windows and macOS. You can save two different layouts on the keyboard, one for each system.
Program with QMK and VIA With full QMK and VIA support, you can easily program and remap each key. The open-source firmware offers endless possibilities for keyboard layouts, hotkeys, backlight effects, and more.
VIA is a keyboard keymap programming software. With VIA, you can configure each key and even write macros for your desired key combinations. VIA supports macOS, Windows, and Linux.
Pre-lubricated Gateron Jupiter Switch Keychron's Gateron Jupiter 3-pin switch is pre-lubricated to the trusted Gateron quality standard and has a lifespan of up to 80 million keystrokes. The unique LED design provides high RGB backlight transmittance and a softer backlight effect.
Hot-swap Capability Hot-swap connectors installed on the PCB allow you to install or replace switches without soldering. The PCB supports both 3-pin and 5-pin MX mechanical switches.
User-facing RGB LEDs 22 different styles of RGB SMD LEDs are easily visible because they are facing the writer. The keyboard also allows for fine-tuning of RGB hue, saturation, brightness, effect speed, and different modes.
Double-Gasket Construction In addition to the plate gaskets, the keyboard features silicone pads between the top and bottom, which significantly reduce metal-to-metal acoustic resonance and metal-to-metal sound. Experience next-level keystrokes and comfort with a gasket-mounted, flexible PC (polycarbonate) plate. This design combination preserves the flexibility of the keyboard's compact structure and significantly improves typing sound.
