The remarkably fast Sony E-mount 50mm f/1.05 lens from 7Artisans is a versatile standard-length prime, featuring a bright f/1.05 maximum aperture and an intuitive, fully manual design. The lens’s speed is suitable for low-light work, and also provides greater control over depth of field to isolate subjects and utilize selective focus techniques. It is complemented by a pair of ultra-low dispersion elements, which control chromatic aberrations and color fringing to ensure high clarity and color accuracy. The manual lens focusing design allows working with subjects closer than 1.9 inches, and the manual aperture ring is also clicked for quiet adjustment, suitable for video. Additionally, this lens features a 13-blade aperture, which contributes to pleasing bokeh quality.

f/1.05 is a combination of 10 elements in 7 groups, totaling 13 aperture blades, which can increase shutter speed in low light and better blur the background. When the aperture is fully open, the central spot shape is ideal. The edge is embodied as an elliptical unfocused spot beyond the screen center. As the aperture decreases, all background blurred light spots are round. Lenses use imported HOYA optical lenses, which include two low-dispersion ED glasses, which can effectively reduce color aberration, improve lens sharpness and contrast.
