The SONOFF Dongle Max is a powerful ZigBee gateway that allows for easy and stable connection of ZigBee devices to Home Assistant or Zigbee2MQTT. Equipped with powerful components, PoE support, and three connection options—Ethernet, Wi-Fi, or USB—it will perform well in a variety of installation conditions.
Versatile Connection Options
The Dongle Max offers several connection options: via Ethernet with PoE power, Wi-Fi, or classically—via USB. This allows you to place the gateway in the most convenient location—on a desk, wall, etc. The lack of restrictions means easier adaptation to the layout of your home or office. The Dongle Max works with popular open-source platforms, and thanks to auto-detection, configuration takes just a moment. The device supports various functions—it can act as a Zigbee coordinator, router, or support Thread RCP. Future support for MultiPAN—that is, simultaneous support for Zigbee and Thread—is also planned.
Powerful Components
The gateway uses two proven chipsets: EFR32MG24 for ZigBee and Thread support, and ESP32 for Wi-Fi communication. This combination guarantees stability, fast data transfer, and low power consumption—especially important if you plan to expand your smart installation.
Thoughtful Solutions
From the local web console, you can view the device’s status, update firmware, change settings, or configure the webhook—without installing additional software. Everything is done through a simple interface that you can access from any device on your local network. In addition, it is possible to switch firmware remotely, use the webhook for notifications and backups, manage multiple Dongle Max devices simultaneously, or adjust the color and brightness of the LED indicators.
