The Sigma 300-600mm F4 DG OS Sports provides exceptional optical stabilization – 5.5 stops*, at a 600mm reach. This lens, operating according to the sophisticated Sigma OS2 algorithm and featuring a drive unit with a specially designed gear and high-precision sensor, effortlessly meets the demands of a large-aperture ultra-telephoto lens. Additionally, photographers can choose from two OS modes: Mode 1 is suitable for most shooting and video recording situations, while Mode 2 is specifically designed for panoramic shots. This mode, controlled by Sigma’s intelligent OS algorithm, stabilizes the image during horizontal, vertical, or diagonal movements, regardless of the camera’s orientation, allowing photographers to accurately capture moving subjects professionally. The main parts of the lens body are made of magnesium alloy, and the hood is made of carbon, making the lens very robust and lightweight. Furthermore, the optical construction, with its center of gravity directed towards the camera, greatly improves weight balance, which is typically heavy from the front.







THERMAL INSULATION COATING FOR EXCELLENT LENS PERFORMANCE




The exterior of the lens body is coated with a thermal insulation coating, which effectively suppresses heat generated by sunlight. This prevents the lens from overheating even when shooting outdoors in sunny weather for extended periods, such as when photographing nature or motorsport.







PRESET FOCUS MODE




By turning the functional ring to the left or right, it is possible to instantly move the focus to a pre-registered focus position. This is useful when shooting in a fixed focus position frequently.







POWER FOCUS MODE




Focusing at a constant speed is possible by controlling the function ring. This allows for smooth focus transitions when shooting video, as well as focusing with minimal movement when shooting handheld. The focusing speed can be changed in two steps, depending on the angle at which the functional ring is controlled.







DURABLE AND EASY-TO-HANDLE TRIPOD MOUNT




The tripod mount’s rotation mechanism uses bearings for high durability and smooth rotation, and precision is ensured by a selectable press-and-release mechanism for each 90° angle. The tripod mount leg is compatible with Arca-Swiss type clamps, but can be easily removed and replaced with different interchangeable tripod mounts (available separately) to suit various situations and preferences.







WITH A BUILT-IN FILTER HOLDER




The Sigma 300-600mm F4 DG OS Sports lens features a built-in filter holder for standard ø40.5mm filters. Additionally, Sigma has developed a new built-in ring polarizing filter and variable ND filter (available separately), which can be inserted into the lens and adjusted for approximately 7 stops.







SIGMA SPORTS LENS LINE SPECIFICATIONS: WEATHER RESISTANCE




Lens mount connections, manual focus ring, zoom ring, selectable switches, and other control switches and external connections are protected from dust and splashes due to a dust and splash-resistant construction*. Furthermore, the front lens surface is coated with a water and oil-repellent coating for easy maintenance when water droplets or dust adhere to the lens. *The construction is designed to be dust and splash resistant, but not waterproof. Be careful not to expose the lens to large amounts of water. Water inside the lens can cause significant damage and may even render the lens irreparable.










VARIOUS FUNCTIONS TO ASSIST PHOTOGRAPHY




The lens features numerous buttons and switches tailored to individual preferences and the needs of various shooting situations, including four AFL buttons in different locations, a focus mode switch, a focus limiter switch, an OS mode switch (Mode 1 or Mode 2), and a custom mode switch. The L-mount version of the lens is also compatible with teleconverters (TC-1411/TC-2011) for shooting with AF at a maximum focal length of 1200mm.
