Product description
Explore the unseen world with the Fujifilm X-S20! Designed for both experienced photographers and beginners, the Fujifilm X-S20 camera features a convenient PASM mode dial, which provides experienced photographers with a familiar button layout, while offering beginners an intuitive way to immerse themselves in a storytelling journey. This lightweight and compact X Series camera is the perfect companion for those who want to create high-quality photos and exceptional videos. The Fujifilm X-S20 is suitable for everything from family photos to live streams and provides unparalleled creative freedom. The "Vlog" mode allows you to adjust focus with a single tap and pay attention to the foreground while filming, ensuring complete creative control when creating online content.
STUNNING COLORS
Expect stunning colors in every shot. And thanks to the improved in-body image stabilization (IBIS) features, blurry shots and images while traveling will be a thing of the past. Enjoy up to seven stops of compensation for crisp and clear results. The Fujifilm X-S20 takes precision to the next level, as the X-Trans CMOS 4 sensor is combined with the X-Processor 5 image processing engine – for the first time in a “Fuji X” series model. This ensures extremely fast processing and accurate and fast autofocus object detection. Together, these features allow you to record 6K/30p and 4K/60p videos without overheating. Furthermore, thanks to the longer battery life, you will never miss a chance to create content. With a single charge, you can take twice as many photos as with its predecessor, the X-S10 model. All the while, the X-S20’s “Vari-Angle” LCD touchscreen allows you to capture the moment your way – whether you want to take a travel selfie or a professional-level video.
VIDEO UPGRADES
The updated "X Processor 5" significantly enhances the new model’s video recording capabilities. This means you can now film 4K/60 4:2:2 10-bit internal video and 6.2K video with open gate (3:2 aspect ratio). Fujifilm has also included the F-Log2 color profile, providing users with an additional “Fujifilm” graded degree, allowing for classification at a base ISO of 1250. If you want to use an external HDMI recording device, the camera can now output ProRes RAW or Blackmagic RAW, if desired. If you think this camera is starting to look like a mini X-H2, you’re on the right track. The X-S20 is compatible with that camera’s cooling fan, FAN-001, which easily screws onto the rear of the X-S20. This model also features a new headphone jack, so you no longer need a USB-C to 3.5mm adapter. Continuous recording time is somewhat problematic – Fujifilm found that when testing the camera at 25 °C, it only lasted 36 minutes in the demanding 6.2K mode. When the FAN-001 is connected, the operating time more than doubles – to 78 minutes. The new "1080/60P LP" mode is designed to allow the camera to record for longer periods. Using a 1.29x crop, so a smaller portion of the image sensor, the processor can rest from binning or row dropping; in this mode, you can record for 32 minutes at 40 °C or 78 minutes when the FAN-001 is installed.
VLOG MODE AND UAC WEB CAMERA
The conveniently placed "Vlog" mode on the mode selection dial introduces a new video recording interface to the Fujifilm system. It is designed to make the work of typical content creators simple and accessible. Tap the Vlog button on the touchscreen and you get six quick access buttons for common functions such as stabilization, a timer, eye/face detection, product priority mode (which focuses on objects held in front of the lens), high-speed recording toggle, and background defocus mode (which maximizes the aperture of the lens). The X-S20 also indicates to the user that filming is taking place with a red box around the LCD viewing screen or a green box if filming in high speed. If you’re not a YouTuber but more of a Twitch streamer, the X-S20 can be used as an impressive webcam. Using the USB-C connection, you can stream a 4K/60p live stream from the camera. Unlike older Fujifilm models, the XWebcam software is not necessary, as the X-S20 supports the UAC standard.
AUTOFOCUS AND OBJECT DETECTION IMPROVEMENTS
Photographers also receive additional assistance thanks to the faster X processor 5 in the X-S20. Fujifilm claims to have added an improved autofocus algorithm, originally developed for the flagship X-H2S model, so moving objects and especially smaller objects should be captured more reliably. The X-S20 has also inherited the X-H2 family’s object detection modes. In PASM or custom modes, these can be selected individually. You can choose from animal, bird, car, motorcycle, and bicycle, airplane, and train modes. If you are shooting in full auto mode, the camera will attempt to recognize and apply the appropriate mode based on the object in the frame.
BODY AND CONTROLS
The Fujifilm X-S20 is unlikely to be a showstopper, as a restrained style has been chosen, with a focus on functionality rather than visual appeal. The compact size, DSLR-style grip, and dual control dials are accessible – it looks like an intermediate camera. The functional accents of the body have also been adapted accordingly. Compared to its predecessor, many controls have been increased in size – larger dials and brighter buttons, but the satisfyingly clicky rear controller remains. The resolution of the articulating touchscreen has been slightly increased, and the electronic viewfinder with a small OLED panel remains the same as the X-S10. Fujifilm has clearly strived to strengthen everything that photographers liked about the X-S10, including the port selection. It has a USB-C with power delivery function for charging, micro HDMI, and a 2.5mm microphone jack, to which a wired shutter release can also be connected. The grip features a brand new 3.5mm headphone jack. X-S10 users needed to use a USB-C to 3.5mm adapter, but X-S20 users can connect directly.
FUJIFILM FUJINON XC 15-45MM F3.5-5.6 OIS PZ LENS - BLACK
The Fujifilm XC 15-45mm F3.5-5.6 is a compact, convenient lens designed for cameras with APS-C sensors featuring an “X-mount” connection. The 23 – 69 mm equivalent focal length, covering from a relatively wide angle to a small telephoto, lightweight construction – 136 g – makes it easy to carry. Thanks to the electronic zoom function, this model features smooth and precise zooming throughout the range, simply selecting the desired speed with the zoom ring and then using the camera. The XC 15-45mm optical construction consists of 10 elements in 9 groups, including 3 aspherical and 2 extra-low dispersion, helping to ensure optimal image quality and sharpness. It is perfect for close-up photography, focusing at a minimum distance of 13 cm. The lens features image stabilization up to 3 stops of shutter speed, as well as a quiet-operating autofocus. The maximum aperture varies from f/3.5 to f/5.6 depending on the focal length, and the minimum aperture is f/22.
