The J.SHMIDT 500 water purification system is a portable active filtration system that combines the features of a high-quality fixed water purifier with the portability of a filter canister.

Air Pressure Flow (APF) water treatment technology allows the J.Shmidt 500 to deliver the pressure required for high quality water purification comparable to fixed water purifiers. APF technology enables the high-density filter cartridge to incorporate a highly efficient combination of fibrous AQUALENTM material, fine activated carbon powder and a microfiltration cavity fibre membrane measuring only 100 nanometres. Such a cartridge provides high quality water purification, removing microplastics, chlorine and organochlorine compounds as well as heavy metals and iron. It also protects against limescale build-up while removing bacteria and intestinal cysts without the use of chemical bactericides.

J.SHMIDT 500 is designed for the pre-treatment of water from municipal tap water or drinking water sources. The water to be treated is poured into a funnel. The funnel is then closed with a lid. Pressing the power button starts the air compressor, which increases the air pressure inside the funnel. The water is then forced under pressure through the JS 500 cartridge filter to be cleaned. The compressor is powered by a built-in battery, whose charge level is indicated by the BATTERY LED. The J.SHMIDT 500 system has an LED indicator for the remaining life of the filter cartridge, marked FILTER. Supplied with charging cable/USB power supply cable - connector Ø3.5 × Ø1.3 mm, and one filter.
