Cartridge The AT-VM95E is Audio-Technica's new entry-level model with an elliptical stylus, which not only replaces the legendary AT95E, but also benefits from developments from the AT95EX introduced in 2015. The AT-VM95E impresses with an improved, striking design with a stiffer, low-resonance housing and, thanks to two threaded inserts in the housing, particularly easy installation with just two screws and no nuts (with headshell or integrated into the tonearm).

VM95 Series - Cartridge Compatibility Overview: Even the best diamond stylus wears out after some time - conical styli after about 500 hours, elliptical styli after 300 hours, microlinear stylus after 1000 hours and Shibata stylus after around 800 hours.

For this reason, we designed our VM95 series dual moving magnet pickups so that the styli can be interchanged and the pickup itself can be used almost unlimitedly. If the stylus is worn out, you don't need to buy a new pickup, just the right replacement stylus - or you can upgrade your system with another, higher quality stylus.

All six VM95 pickup models feature the same electromagnetic drive unit (housing). The six styli in this series are therefore 100% compatible.

Elliptical Capped Stylus: An elliptical diamond stylus follows the deflections of the record groove with greater precision compared to a tapered stylus, allowing for better frequency response with higher phase fidelity and lower distortion.

Mounting without nuts: VM95 series cartridges have two M2.6 thread inserts that allow installation on the tonearm or (replaceable) headshell without nuts. Each pickup includes four M2.6 screws (2 x 8 mm and 2 x 11 mm) and two plastic washers.
