Reolink NVS36 is an Ultra HD and AI camera compatible NVR recorder for up to 36 cameras. The recorder supports simultaneous recording of all cameras connected to the recorder.

The NVS36 recorder has space for three separately purchased/installable SATA hard drives. The maximum supported capacity of each hard disk is 16TB, for a total storage capacity of 48TB. The storage device has been made very easy to set up. After the so-called quick setup, the built-in search function of the recorder searches the local network for compatible cameras. After setting up the usernames and passwords for the cameras, the recorder will then set up the channels for the cameras. The cameras can be connected to the network either wirelessly via Wi-Fi or wired via a network cable. So there is no need to connect the cameras directly to the recorder itself (the recorder has four LAN ports for the cameras). The recorder can be connected via HDMI or VGA cables to a monitor or TV and also supports access via a PC.

Cameras connected to the recorder can be configured to record continuously or, if desired, can record when motion is detected. The rear panel of the recorder has separate RCA connectors for audio input and output. The rear panel of the recorder also has separate alarm channels. Eight (8) inputs for connecting additional wired sensors (such as temperature, infrared, magnetic sensors, etc.) to detect separate events. In addition, a further four (4) outputs for performing functions (door, light, siren switches, etc.).

The recorder can be controlled and operated directly from the TV/screen using the device's own system, or alternatively from a PC using the Reolink Cilient app (macOS/Windows) and/or web browser. A mobile app is also available for Android and iOS. The recorder has one WAN/LAN port for connecting to a router and four LAN ports (non-PoE) for connecting directly to cameras.

Note, no hard drive is included with the recorder. The hard disk must be purchased and installed separately. The NVS36 is compatible with all other Reolink cameras except models with rechargeable battery, 4G cameras and the RLC-211W model.
