The exterior of the polycarbonate RW (rainbow) multilayer lens removes reflections from water, ice and snow in addition to sunlight, and the coating on the inside prevents glare from the eyes. Lenses that are especially suitable for outdoor use go through a special process that makes it easy for water and dust to slide off the lens, keeping it clean.
